How often should I trim the wick?
Every time you light the candle! It is very important to maintain a ¼ inch wick length for maximum candle performance and safety. Some “mushrooming” (burnt ball-like poofs at the end of your wick) is normal as carbon builds up with the burn. Regular trimming will cut down on soot and keep your candle burning properly.
Are your products eco-friendly?
Yes! Unlike many other candle companies who use petroleum-based paraffin wax to make their candles, we use only soy wax from soybeans grown in the U.S. for both our candles and wax melts. Our wicks are braided cotton and paper threads, made with no lead or zinc. Our glass tumblers are reusable and are topped with sustainable bamboo lids. We pour our candles in small batches to minimize waste.
Wherever possible, we select shipping materials that are recyclable and/or biodegradable, including cardboard wrap and paper packing. We care about our footprint.

What kind of fragrance oils do you use?
Our oils are synthetic fragrances infused with natural essential oils. They are designed specifically for use in scented candles and wax melts and have been tested for safety. Our premium fragrance oils avoid the use of phthalates, carcinogens, toxins, and other hazardous chemicals commonly found in commercial fragrance oils.
What are phthalates and do your products contain them?
Phthalates are harmful chemicals found in a variety of household goods. They increase the performance of certain materials, so they are commonly used to bolster the fragrance throw of scented candles. However, research has shown that phthalates have been linked to an elevated risk of cancer, fertility issues, and endocrine disruption in addition to other health problems.
All of our products are phthalate-free.

How long do your candles burn?
Our 8.5 oz candle will last about 40 hours. Discontinue use when there is ½ inch of wax remaining.
Wax melts can last about the same amount of hours. Use 1-2 cubes at a time and swap them out when the fragrance fades.

I’ve lit my candle. Why can’t I smell it right away?
Most commercial candles are made with petroleum-based paraffin wax and fragrance oils that contain phthalates; both of these ingredients increase the fragrance performance of these products, but at a cost to both the environment and our health. When you burn our candles, you are breathing in safer, cleaner ingredients like natural soy and phthalate-free oils, but the fragrance effect can be more subtle.
For the best scent performance, be sure to trim the wick to ¼ inch every time, and burn the candle long enough so that the melt pool (the area of liquified wax) reaches the glass. Remember also that the larger the room, the more difficult it is for the scent to permeate.
