Spill the Tea
Sense and Sensibility
English tea, squeeze of lemon, lavender sachet
$24.00
"But indeed, Elinor, it is Marianne's. I am almost sure it is, for I saw [Willoughby] cut it off. Last night after tea, when you and mama went out of the room, they were whispering and talking together as fast as could be, and he seemed to be begging something of her, and presently he took up her scissors and cut off a long lock of her hair..."
- Jane Austen
No one does teatime better than Jane Austen. Alliances are forged and enemies made amid the clinking of porcelain cups. Gossip is passed around with the scones, reputations smeared like jam. “Spill the Tea” brings the Dashwood sisters into the conversation, as Margaret tells sensible Elinor about how Willoughby has taken advantage of Marianne’s susceptible sensibilities. The rogue. This proper British blend leads with top notes of bright lemon against a subtle backdrop of smooth black tea leaves. Lavender joins the mingle from steaming cups of herbal tea as well as from discreet sachets tucked away in the folds of dresses. Secret weapons.

- Place candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from flammable objects and beyond the reach of pets and little readers.
- Always keep wick trimmed to ¼ inch - retrim after every burn. Don't skip this step! It is very important to maintain proper flame size to prevent excessive carbon buildup in your wick and soot residue on your pretty vessel.
- Do not burn your candle for more than 3 hours at a time, even if that book is hard to put down.
- Keep burning candle in sight and away from drafts and fluttering pages.
- Use care when extinguishing: beware of blowing too forcefully, which can send hot wax or burning embers into the air. A candle snuffer is the best tool to safely extinguish your candle.
- Discontinue use when remaining wax reaches ½ inch.
- Reuse your frosted glass tumbler! Dispose of the last bit of wax at the bottom–just don't pour it down the drain! Use vinegar or rubbing alcohol along with a splash of hot water to loosen the adhesive on the wick tab, remove it, and wipe any residue left on the glass. Your recycled tumbler can serve as a pencil holder or vase (our labels are water resistant) that continues to remind you of one of your favorite stories.
